Expectations for Co-Authorship

We believe in inclusivity and collaborative team-based science. In line with these ideals, our priority is to ensure that all contributions get acknowledged. We will include at least one co-author from each modeling team in publications that include modeling results. Multiple co-authors from each team are possible depending on involvement. Manuscript drafts will be shared with contributors for feedback and edits before submission. We will align this work with CMIP6 protocols and guidelines as we build towards inclusion of this work in CMIP and ILAMB. Data products (e.g. gridded products) derived from model intercomparisons will be made publicly available as is typically required by most journals. 

Co-authors are expected to participate in at least one of the contributions in items 1-3 and contribute to item 4:

• Creation of site-level forcing products
• Model simulations and outputs
• Permafrost benchmarks
• Manuscripts writing and edits prior to submission
