Preceding Syntheses

A long history of synthesis work preceded the WrPMIP and can be view on the Permafrost Carbon Network’s website.

Guiding Work

Divergent patterns of experimental and model-derived permafrost ecosystem carbon dynamics in response to Arctic warming

As a first step towards benchmarking regional and global simulations we explored perturbation warming to replicate experimental Open Top Chamber experiments using CLM4.5 and CLM5. The WrPMIP is a direct extension of this work looking at a greater number of responses, the entire pan-arctic, and in collaboration with a large number of other national and international models.
